North Carolina Running Races
Different North Carolina Races
Different North Carolina races are held in different parts and lots of people participate in the same. North Carolina running races have different themes like one of them is organised with a view to make the masses aware about clean environment. In all the races winners are awarded medals and T shirts.
Different types of races are being held in North Carolina which has different themes as well. In fact the entire calendar seems to be filled with one type of racing event or the other where people actively participate in the same.
Biltmore/Kiwanis 5k/15k Classic
The race begins at around 7:15 from the Biltmore Asheville, North Carolina. One of the most promising kind of races with medals being awarded to those who win the 5k/15k race. It is open to people of all age groups and hence all can take part in these races and enjoy the fun. In the 2010, all those who get their names pre-registered for the races will be provided with T-shirts so that is the positive feature of getting your name registered. However only 950 people can take part in the race.
5K Run for Clean Air
In a view to clean the atmosphere of Carolina, the authorities have been organising the 5k run for clean air. This has been widely appreciated as a good step in the right direction. The race begins at Mc. Alpine Creep Park in Charlotte. The aim of the event is to raise funds for informing the people about the health hazards of polluted air and how their own lives is at risk. You can run, walk or simply move around in the park as part of the event. The race begins at around 8:00 am sharp, while the walking and trotting will begin at 8:30 am. You can go for online registration for the event. The aim behind this is to reduce the use of paper work and thereby help save the environment. There is arrangement made for Hybrid buses as well for the entire racing event.
5K in May
It is a fun run and walk and people can register for the same. For the members the payment to be made is 15$ and for non members it is $20 which will also be involving a T shirt. The race begins at the intersection of the 2nd Street with the East Church Street. You can get yourself pre-registered at the Health Quest Wellness Center.
New Bern Triathlon 2010
The race begins at 8:00 am in the morning. The run begins at the Twin Rivers of YMCA- New Bern, North Carolina. The course of the race is basically flat though in between you will witness a few inclines. The race assumes importance as it is held in the Ghent neighbourhood. Runners participate with active fervour.
